ChangeMakers 2014 is a global citizenship conference for students aged 14-18 and teachers. This is an exciting opportunity for young people to develop their skills as global citizens and for teachers to link global issues with current education priorities.

Registration are now closed.

The Students Zone
Undeniably mobile phones are a part of our every day existence. Whether you live in a rural or urban area, poor or rich country, mobile phones inevitable plays a part in your everyday existence. But how much do we know about where our mobile phones come from? What positive and negative impacts do they have? What are the environmental and the human impacts of how mobile phones are produced?
Through interactive workshops students will have the opportunity to learn and think critically about the impact of mobile phones. The afternoon workshops will empower young people with the skills to carry out peer education projects in their own schools.

The Teachers Zone

With the introduction of the Literacy Numeracy Framework we’ll be examining how ESDGC can support the LNF and vice versa. There will be opportunities to share ideas and discover resources which will support delivery of ESDGC across the curriculum. The morning workshops will be planned for key stages 3-5 and will be hosted by CEWC, Oxfam-Cyrmru and Christian Aid.

The afternoon session will be an exciting opportunity to investigate the new Erasmus+ programme, released in December 2013 and to learn about a selection of existing and inspiring international/ESDGC projects.  The sessions are aimed at teachers both new to the International Dimension and those more experienced.  During the world café more experienced teachers will be encouraged to bring examples of international work they are already doing and share their ideas and experiences.  The workshops too will provide an opportunity to discuss and reflect on the morning sessions and to share additional ideas on implementation in the classroom.

The sessions will be hosted by members of the WIDE Network a network of local authority experts in the field of ESDGC and the International Dimension.
