As 2024 draws to a close and with it, the project and centenary of the 1923-24 Welsh Women’s Peace Petition, Academi Hedddwch have supported volunteers and community groups to bring together a Welsh language commemorative booklet by Llinos Griffin, celebrating peace stories of women from Merioneth (Gwynedd).
“Lleisiau’r Llofnodion” – which literally translates as “the voice of the signatures” – features 11 stories uncovered over the centenary, and brought to life by direct descendants of women who signed the original 1923 petition, many of whose families remain in Gwynedd to this day.
