This exciting new EVS opportunity in Latvia offers a chance to volunteer in strong, value-based children and youth non-governmental organisation which aims to develop young peoples’ skills and abilities through participation in non formal education.
Project: Youth in Smile
Youth association Jaunatne Smaidam/Youth for Smile is non-profit non-political youth organization established in 2005. The organisation’s mission says that they are a strong, value-based children and youth non-governmental organization who act as impetus for the growth of society and the basic principles of civil society strengthening.
The volunteer will be take part in the activities such as:
- The preparation and realisation of activities which are mostly based on organizing leisure time activities for young people – trainings, outdoor activities, and daily youth centre activities etc.
- Becoming the co-leader on a workcamp in Latvia.
- Promoting EVS and international voluntary work for youth.
- Administrative work in office (public and international relations).

When does the project start? 01/07/2017 to 30/06/2018 (12 months)
What does it cost? This project is a European Voluntary Service project under the Erasmus + programme and therefore fully funded through the European Commission.
Who can apply? Anyone aged 18-30 at time of application, UK resident before and after departure, valid passport for at least 6 months year after end of activity. No criminal records.
