New EVS Opportunity Working with Early School Leavers in Belgium

If you are interested in inspiring young people, this 12 month project in Belgium will give you experience of helping early school leavers to improve their skills in order to foster their autonomy and social emancipation.

Project:

The project will take place in Marche-en-Famenne, Belgium. The volunteer will working young people as part of an a prevention service with an open scope of intervention. They will take part in the “SacAdos project”, devoted to youngsters’ orientation as well as other collective and community projects Micados is active in.

The aim of the SacAdos project is to allow youngsters between 15 and 20 years old in school dropout situation, to have a reflection period about their future by taking part in manual works or social actions which are useful to all our community (environment activities, building and painting activities, open space maintenance activities, activities for elder people, children or refugees, building music instruments for developing countries…). The volunteer will contribute to the running of these activities.

When does the project start? 1st February 2017 for 12 months

What does it cost? This project is a European Voluntary Service project under the Erasmus + programme and therefore fully funded through the European Commission.

Except for the travel, you may have to contribute towards some or all of your travel costs to this project as it is a replacement for a volunteer who fell ill and therefore the budget has been used up.

Who can apply? Anyone aged 18-30 at time of application, UK resident before and after departure, valid passport for at least 6 months year after end of activity.  No criminal records.
