Some staff on ‘furlough’ during COVID19 outbreak
The Covid-19 outbreak is an unprecedented global challenge. At the WCIA as a result of Covid-19, we have had to stop most of our activity including school activities, public events and venue hire. Therefore, we have decided to furlough many of the team until the current situation passes, initially until 1 June 2020. A skeleton team will remain in post to run some online activities and communications, run ongoing projects, look after our current international exchange volunteers, and to take care of the organisation and its finances.
For our furloughed staff, we intend to ‘top up’ their salaries for as long as we can so they do not receive a pay cut at this difficult time.
We’ll also keep on gathering and sharing global perspectives about this pandemic. Chief Executive, Susie Ventris-Field, will be the main point of contact during this time (firstname.lastname@example.org).
