Fairness and what we can do about it

Introduction

The concept of fairness is something we spend a lot of time on in our early years. We talk about whether our playground games are fair, whether we have the same amount of party treats, whether we have the same opportunities at school. In the Oxford English Dictionary, fairness is described as “the practice or quality of involving people equally or on equal terms.”(Oxford English Dictionary) but it can be hard sometimes to know what fair circumstances are.

We would all like to believe we are living in a fair world but what does a fair world look like?
