CND Cymru – the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament in Wales – are one of the nations’ longest standing grassroots community peace movements, active since the 1950s in galvanising public opinion for nuclear disarmament.
Over the Summer 2020 COVID lockdown, WCIA volunteers worked to digitise CND Cymru’s publications from the last 4 decades. WCIA’s CND Cymru Archive has been launched to mark #Hiroshima75, as a tribute both to the 200,000 people who lost their lives to the nuclear bombs dropped on Japan in 1945, and to the many thousands who have since campaigned tirelessly for their abolition.

Seeking Volunteers
WCIA are seeking online volunteers from September 2020 onwards to assist in cataloguing and tagging articles and content from the ‘Heddwch’ archive, to improve search functionality for future access and research. These volunteer tasks can be done remotely / from home, by anyone with a computer, good internet connection, and who is confident using online tools (for which training and briefing will be given). If you can help, please email walesforpeace@wcia.org.uk.
