By WCIA Volunteer, Meg Russell
On June 9, The Delegation of the Government of Catalonia to the United Kingdom and Ireland visited the Temple of Peace during their trip to Wales.
The delegation were welcomed by WCIA volunteers, Tom Chambers and Meg Russell. Tom lead the tour of the Temple and answered questions from the delegation regarding the architecture and history of the building.
The tour began outside the temple, with members of the delegation taking an interest in the art-deco architecture and the period the temple was built in.
Tom and Meg then took he delegation down to the crypt to see the Welsh Book of Remembrance. Members of the delegation asked questions about the origin of the book and empathised with the families of the Welsh soldiers who lost their lives during World War I. They then looked around the marble hall while Tom explained the history of Lord David Davies and his ambition of peace-making that drove him to build the temple.
