Proffiliau Siaradwyr
Yr Athro Mazin Qumsiyeh yw Sylfaenydd a Chyfarwyddwr (heb dâl) Sefydliad Bioamrywiaeth a Chynaliadwyedd Palesteina, Prifysgol Bethlehem (gweler palestinenature.org a’r llyfryn deng mlwyddiant, yn ogystal ag adroddiadau blynyddol yma). Mae’r sefydliad yn ymgorffori Amgueddfa Hanes Naturiol Palesteina.
Cyn hynny, bu’r Athro Qumsiyeh yn gwasanaethu ym mhrifysgolion yr Unol Daleithiau gan gynnwys Tennessee, Duke ac Yale, gan arbenigo mewn Cytogenetics. Mae wedi cyhoeddi dros 180 o bapurau gwyddonol, dros 30 o benodau llyfrau, cannoedd o erthyglau, a sawl llyfr gan gynnwys “Sharing the Land of Canaan” a “Popular Resistance in Palestine”.
Goruchwyliodd nifer o brosiectau yn amrywio o lunio’r Strategaeth Bioamrywiaeth Genedlaethol a’r Cynllun Gweithredu ar gyfer Palestina i rymuso prosiectau gyda ffermwyr, menywod a phlant, a oedd o fudd i ddegau o filoedd. Mae ef wedi derbyn gwobr Sefydliad Paul K. Feyerabend Foundation award, gwobr Takreem award, a gwobr Ceisiwr Heddwch y Flwyddyn (Peace Seeker of the Year award), ymhlith eraill.
Mae gan Mazin fwy na 10,000 thanysgrifwyr i’w gylchlythyrau rheolaidd, ac mae’n ysgrifennu’r blog ‘Popular Resistance blog’.

Prof. Mazin Qumsiyeh is Founder and (unpaid) Director of the Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability, Bethlehem University (see palestinenature.org and the 10 year anniversary booklet and annual reports here). The institute incorporates the Palestine Museum of Natural History.
Professor Qumsiyeh previously served at US universities including Tennessee, Duke and Yale, specialising in Cytogenetics. He has published over 180 scientific papers, over 30 book chapters, hundreds of articles, and several books including “Sharing the Land of Canaan” and “Popular Resistance in Palestine”.
He oversaw a number of projects ranging from formulating the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan for Palestine to empowerment projects with farmers, women, and children that benefitted tens of thousands. He is a recipient of the Paul K. Feyerabend Foundation award, the Takreem award, and the Peace Seeker of the Year award, among others.
