About these ‘Archiveathon’ Events

Can you volunteer a few hours of your time, to help document the library collections of Wales’ Temple of Peace & Health? Through volunteer ‘crowdsourcing’ participation, this series of workshops will aim to deepen public access to the Temple Archives, Library and Collections through digitisation of previously untapped source materials, and curation of collection into Hidden Histories’ resources. These will immediately become valuable and used by  students, researchers and peace campaigners into the future.

As well as making a huge contribution to WCIA’s limited capacity and to Wales’ Peace Heritage, volunteers will gain digitisation skills, work experience insight into heritage and digital media management, a record of their contribution, and short tours of Wales’ beautiful Temple of Peace / potential to learn guiding skills. Training and support will be provided through each session, and volunteers of all ages and interests are welcome. No specific digital skills are required, other than confidence with basic computer inputting. We would be grateful if participants could bring your own laptop if you have one; if not, you can request a WCIA laptop by submitting a request ticket from the event registration pages.

There will be 9 facilitated workshop sessions, all on site at the Temple Library – each with individual registration and participant groups. To book more than 1 session, visit WCIA’s Eventbrite listings for:

  5. 29 May
