WW100 Peace Schools Conferences

WCIA has organised annual ‘Peace Schools Conferences’ since 2014, as part of the Heritage Lottery Funded Wales for Peace programme in partnership with the National Assembly for Wales and from 2019 the Sallie Davies Memorial Trust.

WCIA's 2017 Peace Schools conference at Galeri in Caernarfon was organised by 80 pupils from Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen, as part of their Welsh Baccalaureate challenge, working with other schools from the North Wales Coast to Cardiff. Sessions ranged from peace heritage presentations using QR codes for interactive peer learning, to rap music, artistic sculpting, learning to be a tour guide and then delivering Peace Trail Tours with their peers. WCIA can support 'school clusters' to organise similar shared learning events as part of a Welsh Baccalaureate challenge.
