Successful training
WCIA has delivered high-quality in-service training for 9 years, helping teachers to develop students’ skills, values and understanding of citizenship issues.
Our courses can be tailored to colleagues’ needs, and we are happy to arrange pre-course meetings or taster sessions where appropriate.
As well as individual schools, our clients have included ESIS, Mid Glamorgan Education-Business Partnership, Careers Wales, Glyndwr University, Trinity University College, and local education authorities including Blaenau Gwent, Cardiff, Carmarthenshire, Conwy, Newport and Powys.
Teachers who participate in our training sessions are always asked to evaluate their experience. Their feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and a selection of quotes from satisfied customers is provided on this page.
“Thank you, WCIA Cymru, for your help, support and resources in running the programme. The training days were an excellent mix of strategy, practical activities and time to reflect on how Philosophy for Children can be developed throughout the whole school… It gave teachers both the confidence and enthusiasm to try the programme back in their schools.”
Rhian Kenny, Carmarthenshire County Council
“The whole day will be of great benefit to planning PSE within the school.”
Powys primary school teacher
“A fantastic day! An INSET that has left me desperate to be back in the classroom and trying out all that I learned.”
Cardiff secondary school teacher
“This course has really helped to put the Thinking Skills agenda into some sort of context and is clearly the way forward to develop well-rounded citizens.”
