To the left of the Conscientious Objectors memorial stone, this large bronze plaque is set into granite. Adjacent is a bench, also dedicated to the Peace Run movement.
The stone is a dedication to world peace, and Wales as a ‘Sri Chinmoy Peace Nation. It is signed by former Secretary of State for Wales Alun Michael and the signature can be seen in metal on the face of the stone. It was placed in the garden on 1st March 1999 to coincide with St David’s Day and the Oneness-Home Peace Run in Cardiff.
This run is a global torch relay which travels across the world to create goodwill among all people. The Sri Chinmoy Peace-Blossoms-Nations is a collective of over 150 nations that, through the initiative, have reaffirmed their commitment to cooperation, dialogue, and peace. Cardiff became one of the eleven Sri Chinmoy National Peace Capitals in 1997.
Lasting peace must begin within the depths of the individual, and from there spread in ever-widening circles as a dynamic force for world change
