Directions: Both Stairwells of the Temple of Peace look out over the Peace Garden. There is a small display of the Peace Garden’s Heritage on the landing of the ‘south’ stairwell (in the Health Wing, opposite the Peace Messages display)
Although initially planned as part of the Temple’s construction in 1938, with the outbreak of World War Two it was not until 1988 that the founders ambition was finally realised of establishing Wales’ National Garden of Peace in the grounds behind the Temple, adjacent to North Road – the main thoroughfare in and out of Cardiff City Centre.
