Online MockCOPS

On 14 and 21 September, WCIA and Size of Wales held online MockCOPS for 5 schools.
MockCOP supports pupils in year 9-13 to develop as ‘ethical informed citizens of Wales and the World’ and helps learners to make an impact on the crucial issue of climate change.

The aim of the conference is for delegates to agree an international resolution on the issue of climate change, similar to the UN Climate Change COP talks, whilst playing the part of their country as authentically as possible. Through this conference we encouraged young people to be more engaged with climate change and political issues and consider the responsibility of Wales, both locally and globally.

Each delegation prepared well for the conferences with a lot of interesting ideas have emerging from delegations from USA, India, Bangladesh, China, Germany, Brazil, UK, Germany and Egypt.
