Call for papers – ‘Health and Peace’ conference, March 31st 2022.

In 1938, construction of the Temple of Peace and Health was completed in Cathays Park, Cardiff. Eighty-three years later, the name of the building is more relevant than ever in the face of growing global problems.

Affectionately known to the organisations residing there as the Temple, there are two wings (as can be seen above) – the ‘Peace’ wing, and the ‘Health’ wing.

On March 31st, 2022, Academi Heddwch will be hosting an online conference on the subject of ‘Health and Peace’ in partnership with the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and with support from the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol.

The conference will examine the connections between a Healthy World and a Peaceful World; the plenary speaker for the conference will be Dr. Rowan Williams.

We welcome proposals for 25-minute papers, through the medium of Welsh or English. Abstracts (comprising of no more than 200 words) should be sent to Mererid Hopwood (meh64@aber.ac.uk) by January 31st.
