This event is organised by the Learned Society of Wales in partnership with Aberystwyth University.

Professor Colin McInnes is Director of Research, Impact and Excellence at Aberystwyth University. Based in the Department of International Politics, he is a UNESCO Professor and holds the UNESCO Chair in HIV/AIDS Education and Health Security in Africa. He has been vice-chair of the UK National Commission for UNESCO since 2015, and in 2017 received the Special Achievement Award at the inaugural Wales Social Research awards. Professor McInnes has published widely on global health issues and on security. He has advised Public Health Wales on its development of an international health strategy and the InterAction Council (a group of over 40 former presidents and prime ministers) on global health issues.

Mae’r Athro McInnes wedicyhoeddi’neang ar faterioniechydbyd-eang ac ar ddiogelwch. Mae wedicynghori Iechyd Cyhoeddus Cymru ar ddatblygustrategaethiechydryngwladola’r Cyngor InterAction (grŵp o dros 40 o gynarlywyddion a phrifweinidogion) ar faterioniechydbyd-eang.
